JANUARY 9 - DAY 9 - Dowdle 60K Puzzle

I have had the pleasure of connecting (in a jigsaw puzzle group) with Judy Fisher Moulder since 2017. She is a real jigsaw puzzle enthusiast as she has accomplished other large jigsaw puzzle. But the difference this time is she did 60- 1000 piece puzzles per day for 60 days. In fact, she finished before 60 days. Her speed to complete 1000 pieces started out around 6 hours, then gradually under 5 hours and then the better portion hovered around 4.5 hours. Those are incredible timings for 1000 piece puzzles, not to mention the time it takes for the photos, the videos and then posting it ALL to social medias. And there were a lot of social medias to post to, like Facebook, Facebook Groups, Youtube, Instagram to name a few . JANUARY 9 - DAY 9 NHL Diamond Dots??

I have purchased many Diamond Paintings but these ones make perfect 'personal' gifts. I like to complete the kit myself, mount it like a picture for the gift's wall. The reason I do that is because some people do not enjoy doing diamond painting but they like the image. So I make sure the gift is enjoyed by 'painting' it myself first and making it user ready - it's a WIN - WIN!!! JANUARY 9 - DAY 9 - Puzzle Journey #4
I wanted a nice little pocket blank journal so I made one. I designed the cover and set it up on Amazon for sale. That means you can have one too. In the future, I will explain how I do that but for now just know that I am using my journal to record my jigsaw puzzle journey. I started it back in November but I will be continuing it on this post daily.

My Jigsaw Puzzle Journey #4 Last week I shared a few Springbok jigsaw puzzles that were my first purchases as a young adult. And by this week’s post, you can tell I am finally getting to Christmas because I am going to share the Springbok, Merry Olde Santa jigsaw puzzle. What is different about this puzzle (which is a first for me) is the ‘extra’ is called a Stereogram. Of course I had never heard of this and I was totally intrigued. You can see by the description that it is now 1994 and I am still living in the remote north. To explain a bit about Stereograms they are sometimes referred to as Magic Eye Pictures and have a hidden 3D picture inside.
There is a bit of a trick to seeing that hidden 3D picture.
To see the hidden 3D picture in each stereogram, hold the stereogram about 6 inches (15cm) from your face. Then try to stare through the picture, which will make your eyesight go blurry. Eventually, a blurry hidden 3D picture will start to come into focus. Maintain your gaze and the 3D picture will soon become clearer, sharper and you will be able to look around the 3D picture without it disappearing.
I found the easiest way to 'pull-out' the 3D effect is to look at it as if you are looking AT a mirror and not INTO a mirror. Then make your eyes go into a staring mode and within seconds the images will start to form.....it is also very helpful if you know what the image looks like so you can help 'pull-out' the 3D image through the background.
Please note that everybody is different and it may take some people a few seconds to see the 3D hidden picture, whilst others may take a few minutes or not at all. If you cannot see any hidden 3D pictures in the stereograms, try altering the distance by slowly moving your head back and forth.
That said - IF you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to get these 3D images to reveal, you will be totally impressed with what you see.

Now for assembling this puzzle, it sure was tricky around the edges. It took me a long time to assemble it but I was determined to see THAT 3D image. Next week's entry took me years and years to assemble... |
JANUARY 9 - DAY 9 - The Lindas
Here's a little tidbit that I discovered over the years. Back in 2015, 2016 I was searching for one of my puzzles I posted in a couple of Facebook Groups, one of the Groups being mine Jigsaw Puzzle Connections Facebook Group. At that time, I simply typed in 'Linda' in the search tab. I was surprised and impressed there were so many Lindas - I seen about 10 in my Group and about 25 in the other Group I searched. I even made a little post about how many Lindas there were in these Groups as a fun comment.
A couple years later, curiosity got a hold of me again so I did another search for Lindas in more than one Group and this time the number had increased as suspected but in the 50's for my Group and high 80's in the other Group. Just to spice up my post to the Groups, I searched for the 2nd most popular name which happened to be Julie (and coincidently, in the Know It All Book I am reading, A.J. Jacob's wife's name is Julie). However, the numbers were about HALF as many Lindas. Interesting indeed.
Since then, I have joined MANY jigsaw puzzle Groups but I summed up the 6 biggest ones. So the most common name in all the jigsaw puzzle groups is Linda and it is more than doubled to the 2nd most common name being Julie. I have researched the numbers below at the end of 2022 and it is almost fair to say that there is about 1% of the women in all the Groups with the name Linda.
According to the Spanish Linda means pretty. What is the spiritual meaning of Linda? Linda is baby girl name mainly popular in Christian religion and its main origin is Germanic. Linda name meanings is Tender woman.
Well all that said, it's a far cry to read about characters in books with the name Linda or see them as super stars - just saying'...
